TROPICAL POP CAN BIRD
FOR THIS CRAFT PROJECT YOU WILL NEED :
To complete this project you will need the following supplies
clean empty pop can
clean clear plastic cup
construction paper
tissue paper
feathers
google eyes
ribbon
scissors
tape
glue
INSTRUCTIONS :
This project can be completed by using your imagination - but this particular version is made by doing the following steps
1) Cut the plastic cup in half
2) Place the bottom part of the cut plastic cup over the mouth of the popcan and tape together - bind tightly so that it doesn't come apart
3) Wrap tissue paper around the plastic cup that has been taped to the pop can - secure with tape
4) Wrap construction paper around the pop can ( cut the paper to fit ) Secure with tape
5) Cut wings and a beak out of construction paper ( you can just use basic triangle shapes to keep it simple for younger kids ) Secure the wings to the side of the wrapped pop can with tape and/or glue then secure the beak to the tissue paper wrapped portion which is the head ( for the beak a diamond shape folded in two works best )
6) Decorate your bird by wrapping some ribbon around its neck, add some google eyes and of course some feathers for the finishing touch - I added some frayed ribbon around the eyes and I also cut out construction paper circles to go under the google eyes - the best way to do this project is to get as creative as possible and enjoy yourself !
