INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE A VALENTINES DAY ELEPHANT MAILBOX
FOR THIS PROJECT YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
Scissors
Glue
Crayons or Markers ( if you are using the black and white templates )
Tissue Box ( or another box of similar size with a hole cut into the top )
3 Pieces of Cardstock or Plain White Paper ( For Best Results Use A Heavy Cardstock For Printing The Templates )
OPTIONAL : Construction Paper, Glitter Glue
1) Print out either the color or black and white templates using heavy cardstock ( you can also use regular paper - but cardstock is recommended ) - if you are using the black & white versions have the children color them at this point
2) Optional : Glue some construction paper all around the tissue box ( making sure to leave the opening open for putting cards in ) - you can use red, pink, grey or whatever color suits you.
3) Cut out the EYES , TRUNK and HEAD from the template and glue them together to make the elephants face
4) Next cut out the TRUNK and glue it onto the face
5) Now glue the face onto the front of the tissue box ( just glue the bottom half of the face onto the box and leave the other portion sticking up )
6) Then cut out the EARS ( cut down the dotted line as well ) and glue them behind the head.
7) Next cut out the TAIL and glue it onto the back of the tissue box
8) Next cut out the LEGS and glue them to the sides of the box ( hearts upside down )
9) Last you can use the DECORATIONS and decorate the elephants body, you could also get creative at this point and add some glitter glue, some of your own coloring & designs - whatever you like
THERE YOU HAVE IT - AN EASY , FUN PROJECT ALL FINISHED !
