VALENTINE'S DAY BITTY BUTTERBOX BUG
FOR THIS CRAFT PROJECT YOU WILL NEED :
To complete this project you will need the following supplies
small empty rectangular box ( butter box is best )
part of a roll of streamers
6 bendy / flexible straws
foam heart shapes of various sizes or construction paper cut into hearts
2 google eyes
marker
scissors
INSTRUCTIONS :
This project can be completed by using your imagination - but this particular version is made by doing the following steps
1) Tape the butter box together so that it is in a solid rectangle shape
2) Wrap the streamers overs the box lengthwise first ( to cover the head and rear ), then tape and start over going around the body - slowly wrap the butter box in streamers so that it looks like stripes - see photo
3) Very carefully ( with an adults help ) poke six holes in the side of the wrapped box - then poke the straws into each hole ( you will have to cut the straws shorter to make them fit properly - make sure to leave the bending part out as the bugs knees - see photo below
4) Now you can decorate your bug - add some heart shape eyes ( put the google eyes inside ), put a bow on her head and some heart shaped polka dots, draw a mouth & nose with black marker - you can vary this craft any way you like to personalize your bug
